MPAMOSAVY

ROLE : Director, co-producer, sound & picture editor

SYNOPSIS : The short film Mpamosavy tells the story of the massacre of the rebels during the Malagasy rebellion against French colonial rule in Madagascar in 1947. We then follow, in 2023, the descendants of a Malagasy witch and a French colonizer whose fates are intertwined by a wish that, at the time, would have been granted by a Kalanoro, a magical creature from Malagasy folklore.

DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT : The film aims to highlight the richness of the culture, legends, and history of Madagascar. Mpamosavy also addresses the culture of rape and the intergenerational consequences of colonization.

CRÉATURES DIVINES

ROLE : Director, art director, picture/sound/SFX editor

SYNOPSIS : A satirical critique of the hypertextualization of women, male gaze and forced hyperfeminity on girls from a young age through the medias of fairytales, commercials, reality TV, video games and rap.

DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT : Créatures Divines is the representation of my childhood growing up in the 2000s. With bimbo Barbie, video games in which female characters are half-naked and shows and movies in which all girls do is obsess over guys. As I grew up, it became my mission to criticize the objectification of women.

TERRARIUM

SYNOPSIS : Terrarium, is an experimental short film, about two living creatures in a room in which everything is edible and smokable.

DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT : During this pandemic, I spent too much time alone in my room and started to see myself as a creature and my room as my terrarium. My life started to feel like a non-sense continuous dream that defies the rules of physics and reality. Terrarium is a representation of what my room felt like during that period of time.

POV D'UN FEU

ROLE : Director, DOP, picture/sound editor

SYNOPSIS : Emilio's 19th birthday party through the point of view of a lighter.

DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT : In Montréal, we smoke a lot. This film is about how fire is gathering. We all light our cigarette with the same lighter, gather around a table to smoke, butch in the same ashtray. This fire same burns the candles around which we all sing to celebrate a friend. Everyone in the party is going to share a memory with this lighter.

CLARA & HENRI

ROLE : Director, DOP, art director, sound & picture editor.

SYNOPSIS : Henri juges his sister Clara on her accidental pregnancy.

DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT : Clara and Henri are my friends and have a furiously fusional and explosive relationship. They have beefs, but always end up paring up to help each other over what they were fighting about. This is a film about one of their arguments.
